Capanna Suites was born from the heart of a historic wine estate in Montalcino, a place where the land has always guided every decision. From this heritage comes a philosophy that brings together wine, hospitality, and environmental responsibility, now also recognized through the achievement of ESG certification, confirming a concrete and measurable commitment to sustainability, ethics, and governance.
Respect for the environment is expressed through tangible actions. In 2025, a 200 kW photovoltaic system became operational, allowing us to move steadily toward energy self-sufficiency. Water management is supported by a rainwater harvesting system with two independent reserves: an artificial lake used for the irrigation of green areas during the summer months, and a large underground cistern integrated into the estate, significantly reducing overall water consumption.
The seasonal vegetable garden, cultivated according to biodynamic principles and in harmony with natural cycles, is a key resource for our gourmet restaurant, Il Passaggio. Here, the kitchen focuses on enhancing local ingredients through a responsible approach, respecting seasonality and minimizing waste by using each ingredient in its entirety.
At the same time, Capanna Suites is engaged in a progressive path toward the complete elimination of plastic, adopting more sustainable alternatives across all departments, while prioritizing local suppliers to further reduce environmental impact and strengthen our connection to the territory.
Every decision, from resource management to sourcing, is guided by a conscious and integrated vision. For us, producing wine and offering hospitality today means caring for the land that hosts us, acting responsibly, and leaving a light yet meaningful footprint.
